Mantra Mackay

Great hotel near the beach in Mackay. Comfortable stay with a great breakfast, a little far from Mackay city if you don't have your own transport, but the views are beautiful.

This Mantra is in a great location for a view of the Marina. Rooms are adequate - but a little tired looking. Daily service seems not to include clean towels - need to ask for that. Some musty smelling areas of the hotel. Parking although free is not plentiful or really undercover. Breakfast is great, fresh and hot each morning. Compliments to Julie in the restaurant for her friendly and efficient manner.

Beautiful room gorgeous views of the harbour! Lovely food, not overly expensive, staff were wonderful and helpful. Manta Mackay is definitely our go to locally, the ocean views are like no other, restaurant food and beverages are always delicious and of high quality, catering to all. The rooms are always spotless, even the ocean facing windows (which is near impossible to up keep). All in all will be locking this in regularly.

Spacious room, great veranda, huge bed, most comfy arm chair ever, some cooking facilities and shared laundry area that was complimentary. We were nearing the end of a two week holiday and had to be near Mackay airport (about 15 minute drive). The facilities were perfect as some of our clothes needed a freshen up. The restaurant provided a good range of excellent quality meals. Harbour beach was an unexpected delight (2 minutes along track), and the other walks from the front were interesting, (out to the harbour entry or North Wall). Our room was on the back of the resort but we still had a good view. We were so comfortable that we didn't want to leave.

Great Room with water view, room layout was great, with spa and large bathroom, great room, in good condition new carpet, self-catering availably, fridge size was a great, biggest disappointment was restaurant and services, not sure why not overly busy and had no function

We had our wedding here a lot of our guests stayed also we had to worst time. It all started with everyone being put on the 7th floor and me the bride was put on the 4th floor. The day went smoothly from there until the reception. Staff spoke through speeches. The staff made up a rule about the music although it was never spoken about before my contract said 10pm volume had to be below a set level not 8.30pm. A staff member also was trying to punch a guest. The manager was so rude would only listen to the story the staff had spun not was really happened. After all my guest had checked out I was informed I wasn’t aloud to go to the restaurant to eat there. I would not recommend having events here or even staying here this was a horrible experience and a complete waste of time and money. The only good thing that happened as I did get to marry the love of my life. Despite the mantra staff trying there hardest to destroy my night.

Nice service and great staff, Everyone was so friendly and opened to help. I would advise to put some weight dumbbells in the gym and activate Gym air conditioning. I asked couple of times but was not possible to activate it. I think the review should not request a min of words.

We needed somewhere to stop overnight and for a good nights sleep. Room was very comfortable and quiet and clean. Hotel is a little dated but no complaints. I had hoped for more food options on the harbour however they were limited. The restaurant in the hotel was good however under pressure as they were also hosting a wedding. I should have done a little more research as the hotel was further off the highway i.e. beyond the Mackay town centre and the city is reasonably well spread. Bed was comfy and we enjoyed the quiet.
